A police investigation has been launched after an ambulance was involved in a collision close to the site of the Jalsa Salana convention on Sunday, July 30.

The incident took place shortly after 11am on the B2004 Green Street just east of Oaklands Farm, where more than 40,000 people were meeting for the annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community.

Two people suffered minor injuries; the driver of a Nissan Qashqai and a passenger in the ambulance.

The Herald and Post has asked if the ambulance was on an emergency call at the time of the collision, and if the injured passenger of the ambulance was a patient or crew member.

But Hampshire Constabulary has refused to  answer further questions and South Central Ambulance Service had not responded at the time of going to press.

A police spokesman did though confirm the collision is under investigation. And a spokesman for the Ahmadiyya Muslim community said the crash was unrelated to Jalsa Salana.
