DISGRACED council officer Ann-Marie Wade has admitted submitting fraudulent air quality data.
Ms Wade, 44, of Church Road, Durrington, Wiltshire, appeared at Guildford Crown Court on November 4, where she pleaded guilty to two counts of deliberately submitting false air quality figures to Waverley Borough Council.
She admitted fudging the data between March and December 2015, and for the entirety of 2016, “intending to make a gain for yourself or to expose Waverley Borough Council to a risk of loss”.
However, she pleaded not guilty to a third charge relating to “dishonestly” claimed mileage expenses “for the purpose of placing diffusion tubes”.
Waverley has been duty-bound to submit an annual air quality report to the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs ever since excessive levels of nitrogen dioxide were detected in Farnham in 2004.
However, the council was forced to withdraw its 2016 report after it was alerted to discrepancies in its data.
Ms Wade will be sentenced on Thursday, December 12.
