IT’S all go for the town’s three-day family-friendly festival, Haslemere Fringe, which kicks off on Friday, July 1.

In addition to Lion Green’s headline acts Bruce Foxton’s From the Jam, pub ‘Rockney’ duo, Chas & Dave, and country music double act by twin sisters Ward Thomas, festival-goers can also enjoy a new ice cream created for this year’s event.

Haslemere Fringe joined forces with Dylan’s Milk Barn, based at Wey Hill, makers of artisan ice cream, to mount a competition to be The Ice Cream Champion at this year’s festival by coming up with the winning ingredients for a ‘dream’ ice cream.

Dylan’s Ice Cream founder Ben Govier and his team chose four-year-old Isaac Noble’s Lion Bar, a caramel and chocolate ice cream with wafers and Rice Crispies, as the winning entry (pictured).

His recipe will be produced and launched at the 2016 Haslemere Fringe Festival and will be on sale afterwards at Dylan’s Milk Barn, the ice cream parlour and cafe opposite Lion Green.
