FERNHURST Primary School spent a magical day with the popular children’s author Abie Longstaff (pictured)

Kicking off the school’s World Book Week, Abie’s books ‘The Magic Potions Shop’ and ‘The Fairytale Hairdresser’ were the theme for the day on Monday.

A school spokesman said: “The younger children loved her elaborate storytelling while the older children were really inspired by her workshops and talks.

“It was a fantastic day and really helped the children find their ‘inner writer’.”
