SEVEN people nominated for their outstanding service to Haslemere were honoured at a ceremony at the Georgian House Hotel this week.
All the medals had been donated by Herald proprietor Sir Ray Tindle, with each individual's achievements read out by Haslemere Mayor, Cyndy Lancaster.
Some 50 people have been honoured since Haslemere Rotary Club launched the scheme, in 2010. The nominations put forward for the award are discussed by a panel with an independent chairman.
The ceremony, which was the sixth in succession, usually takes place in the town hall, but it was combined with the town council's annual meeting on Monday.
"The new venue made for a very happy evening with everyone enjoying drinks and light refreshments following the official business," said a spokesman.
