Local resident Caitlin O’Boyle is hoping to hit the right note when she takes her choir to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.
Caitlin is an Oxford Brookes University graduate and founded the Trinity A Cappella Choir. She grew up in the Haslemere area and attributes her love for music to the schools she attended and choirs.
Caitlin said: “Music has always been a way where it clicks with how my brain works with me and I really enjoy it.”
“I was in a choir at Camelsdale Primary School and we had a really good singing teacher and music teacher, so I also took violin lessons. At Midhurst Rother College, I did music there for GCSE and A-levels and I also attended Hindhead School of Music.
“I always wanted to sing A capella and in my third year, I sang in an Oxford University choir called In The Pink. However, there was never a Brookes A capella group, so I decided to make my own approach.”
Caitlin describes A capella as pop music with a bit of a twist, where vocals recreate the instrumental accompaniments. She is currently based in Camelsdale, while taking a year off from studies. Offering private voice, violin and music theory lessons as well as music GCSE and A Level composition lessons.
The choir is trying to raise money for their debut performance at the Fringe. If you can help, donate online at https://tinyurl.com/Trinity-A-Cappella-fundraiser For music lessons contact Caitlin at https://tinyurl.com/Caitlin-OBoyle-contact
