This autumn, Grayshott Folk Club continues its tribute to leading women in folk music with an intimate performance by acclaimed “fiddle singer” Bella Hardy on Friday, November 29. Bella, an icon on the folk scene since her teenage years, will perform songs from her new album, showcasing a unique blend of traditional roots and modern influences that have shaped her career.

A multiple Folk Award winner, including BBC Radio 2’s Folk Singer of the Year, Bella has captivated audiences with her skilful blend of tradition and innovation. As part of her UK tour, which includes Sheffield, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Birmingham, Bella is set to perform selections from her forthcoming album.

Her return to the stage this year is a highlight for folk fans, especially as she’ll be joined by her friend and renowned guitarist Jenn Butterworth. Together, they celebrate women’s voices and stories in folk.

Bella started as a self-taught “fiddlesinger”, performing at Cambridge and Sidmouth Folk Festivals from the age of 13. She is steeped in the tradition but as her career has progressed, Bella has also absorbed musical influences from much further afield.

Her recent single, a reimagined take on the traditional “Shepherds Are The Cleverest Lads,” offers a glimpse into her new album.

As the spotlight turns to female artists like Bella Hardy, Grayshott Folk Club is proud to bring a stage to powerful women in music, inspiring and celebrating folk’s next generation. Don’t miss this chance to experience Bella’s latest work live act Grayshott Village Hall at 7.30pm.
