Farnham Town Council has begun consultation on improving a green space in the heart of town.

The council has announced that it is embarking on a new project to improve the playground and toilets at Gostrey Meadow in the town centre. Parents, carers and young people are being asked to voice their opinions to help create the playground.

The hope is that the public’s views will make the area more accessible and inclusive and where children aged 11 and under can play safely.

The initial project stages include:

  • Consultation on equipment
  • Tender for playground design
  • Consultation on the selection of a preferred design

Planning permission for the toilets will take place in parallel with the playground project and completion is expected in early 2026. Until then, the council will continue to make remedial repairs to the playground and thank residents for their patience.
