An Aldershot man with ties to the Farnham and Bordon areas has been charged with 11 offences including rape.
Darren Hendry, 34, of Denmark Street, Aldershot, has been charged with two counts of rape, attempted rape and three counts of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm.
He was also charged with criminal damage, harassment without violence, two counts of intentional strangulation and possessing an imitation firearm.
It comes after officers received reports that a woman was raped in Fleet and Brighton in October and November last year.
Mr Hendry has previously lived in Farnham and Bordon.
Officers also received a report that the same woman was assaulted on three separate occasions in Fleet and Worthing between October and December.
The other alleged offences are said to have taken place in Fleet between August and December.
Hendry appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Wednesday, January 17 and was remanded into custody.
He is next due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, February 14.
What we can and can't report
In UK law, after someone is charged with a criminal offence the media is only permitted to publish a defendant's name, address, age and the charges against them, as well as the detail of any court proceedings except those covered under reporting restrictions.
This is to avoid prejudicing any future legal proceedings.
