THE start of a new school year is always an exciting time, but Beacon Hill School had extra reasons to celebrate at the beginning of term.
In addition to new children, including two reception classes, and members of teaching and support staff to support the continued success of the school, the team was pleased to welcome back a familiar face.
Catherine Miller, previously a deputy head at Beacon Hill, has returned to the village primary school as the new headteacher after an absence of two years leading Wood Street Village Infant School, in Guildford.
“I was delighted to be appointed as headteacher of Beacon Hill School and am excited to be working with the outstanding team here to further build on the success of this wonderful, friendly school,” said Mrs Miller, who was previously deputy for six years.
Mrs Miller takes over from Sue Walker, who retired at the end of last term after eight years at the school.
