A Farnham charity wants to know “What’s your story?” as it celebrates Dyslexia Awareness Week 2024.
Helen Arkell, a dyslexia charity is proud to announce this year’s event from October 7 to October 13.
This year's theme, ‘What’s Your Story?’, invites individuals to share their journeys with dyslexia to raise awareness of the strengths and experiences it can bring.
The celebration will bring inspiring stories from people across different walks of life who have dyslexia. These stories will shed light on how individuals overcome the challenges in their personal and professional lives to be the person they are today.
Helen Arkell encourages people to get involved by submitting their own stories. Those interested in sharing their experience can visit the website to find out more or email [email protected].
You can get involved on social media, online, at home or in person. Throughout the week, the Helen Arkell team will be attending lots of events to engage the community, provide support and spread awareness about dyslexia. These include:
- Thursday, October 10: The charity will be at The Shed in Bordon from midday to meet with families and individuals.
- Saturday, October 12: Helen Arkell is excited to be the guest charity at Farnham FC for their home game against Southall FC.
- Sunday, October 13: Help the charity support its runners taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London.
- The Helen Arkell team will also be attending the Tes SEND show in London on October 11 to October 12.
