This year’s Festival of Crafts winner has been announced by the New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham.

Anna Cook was chosen as the winner by Alison Whitaker during the Farnham Maltings event. Anna's paper art, which combines intricate craftsmanship with a deep connection to nature, will be featured in a solo exhibition at the gallery in autumn next year.

She began her creative journey around five years ago with her first attempt at paper cutting-a modest candle holder. What started as a hobby soon evolved into a passion, as friends encouraged her to continue developing her skills.

Anna, who has a background in design and printmaking, combined her existing expertise with her newfound love for paper art.

New Ashgate said: “She often depicts woodland animals and birds, skilfully capturing their personalities and movements within their habitats. Each piece requires immense attention to detail, showcasing her commitment to her craft.”
