“WOW” was the buzzword among the 400 Boogie Days ravers as they partied hard at Haslemere Hall’s first-ever over-thirties daytime disco.
Eager to get started, partygoers began queuing at 3pm. From the moment the doors opened, the atmosphere was electric. Despite the appeal of an early night, nobody wanted to leave when the lights went down at 8pm.
Event founder Keith Connors said: “They wouldn’t stop dancing, and we had to persuade them to leave.”
DJs Matt Reynolds and Jack Foster, also part of the Boogie Days team, kept the crowd moving with tunes that had everyone, from 30 to 60 years old, on their feet.
Connors called the event a “festival of happiness” as glow sticks and headbands lit up the hall, confetti rained down from the stage and balcony, and giant balloons floated above the crowd. A surprise indoor sparkular display sparked a massive cheer.
Tara Platt wrote on Facebook: “A truly awesome night in sleepy Haslemere – but it wasn’t sleepy from 3pm to 8pm! We danced our butts off and sang our hearts out. The music rocked, hands were in the air all night! The lighting and effects created a proper disco, dance, rave vibe. We danced and danced! Thank you Boogie Days team for bringing back old skool disco. Keep dancing on!”
After the success of this event, Boogie Days will return to G-Live on Saturday, May 3, with tickets already on sale. For those eager for more daytime partying, it will also return to Haslemere Hall on Saturday, October 4.
Connors and Harris thanked all the “lovely Boogie Dayers” and encouraged everyone to join the Boogie Days Facebook page for more updates.
“Life’s too short – it’s time to get out and party!” Connors said. “See you at the next one!”
