It was not quite Noah’s Ark, but on Sunday, September 17 All Saints Church in Grayswood welcomed 52 humans and 20 animals (two ponies, 17 dogs and one hamster) to its first Pet Service in more than 20 years.
After hymns and prayers Rev Fi Gwynn blessed each of the animals.
Rev Fi said: “It was lovely to see so many people who wouldn’t usually come to church. The animals were very well behaved and there was only one accident to clear up.”
Thanks to its success, some have even asked for the Pet Service to become an annual event.
