Haslemere Leisure Centre will host a free open day next Saturday, July 27 with a diverse and fun-filled timetable of activities for everyone.

The ‘Summer of Sport Festival’ by Everyone Active and Waverley Borough Council is sure to get rid of any summertime boredom.

It will run from 10am to 4pm with activities including swimming, weightlifting and basketball in the hope they will inspire visitors to discover new ways to stay active.

There will also be free face-painting at the event to mark the one-year partnership between WBC and Everyone Active.

“This is set to be a wonderful day, celebrating our community, the importance of looking after our health and wellbeing,” said district councillor Kika Mirylees.

“This is our first year working with Everyone Active who have been doing such a great job inspiring us all to get involved and try something new. I hope lots of people will join in the fun.”

“We’re thrilled to mark our first year of partnership with WBC by inviting the community to experience all that Haslemere Leisure Centre has to offer,” said Everyone Active’s contract manager.

Haslemere Leisure Centre has attracted more than 280,000 visitors and achieved a 35 per cent increase in fitness memberships since July 2023.

The centre also underwent a comprehensive six-figure gym refurbishment last November.
