Town mayor Councillor Jacquie Keen opened this year’s Cards for Good Causes pop-up shop at Haslemere Museum on Monday.
It is open between 10am and 4.30pm until Christmas Eve, selling a wide range of Christmas cards and gifts and raising money for local and national charities.
Cllr Keen said: “It’s a joy to see 40 charities represented in one room. Thanks to the volunteers for doing such a wonderful job.”
The pop-up shop, staffed by local volunteers, features seasonal gifts, stocking fillers, wrapping paper, decorations and tableware.
The card designs include traditional religious cards, old masters and landscapes, as well as festive favourites and animals.
Cards for Good Causes is a charity which has operated for more than 60 years with the sole aim of raising funds for UK charities by being a one-stop shop for gifts and cards.
Some of the charities Cards for Good Causes is supporting this year are Diabetes UK, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, the British Heart Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Society UK, Epilepsy Action and the MS Society.
Haslemere shop manager Maggie Monteath said: “We can’t wait to meet everyone this year in our shop. Enjoy buying your Christmas cards and gifts while supporting the charities of your choice. We hope to see you soon.”
