Thirty town criers descended on the Wiltshire town of Calne to compete for the Town Criers’ Championship on Saturday, July 15.
Haslemere’s town crier, Christian Ashdown, was joined by competitors from Britain, Canada, Bermuda and Australia.
Mr Ashdown, a former household cavalryman, won the competition in 2017 and has been judged 'best dress crier' three times, but this was not to be his year as the top prize went to Otley's Bellman, Mr Terry Ford.
Christian said: “As the chair of the guild I was delighted to meet up with our members and to see faces old and new.
“A lot of the criers are looking forward to coming to Haslemere next Bank Holiday to compete for the Tennyson Trophy.”
