The Haslemere u3a will hold its annual Enrolment Day on Monday, September 2, from 11am to 1pm at Haslemere Hall. Open to members renewing their membership and newcomers interested in exploring the society’s 60 activity and interest groups with membership just £10.
The u3a, an independent charity based at Haslemere Hall, offers free monthly talks and a variety of stimulating activities, including walks, tennis, cycling, language groups, cookery classes, and more. With more than 700 members, it’s a great opportunity to meet others and discover new interests. For more details, visit u3asites.org.uk/haslemere.
If joining the u3a takes your fancy, then why not journey with the 15th-century Portuguese explorers who braved everything to discover a sea route around Africa to reach the rich spice markets of the East? Critically acclaimed author and public speaker Fran Sandham will be revisiting these voyages at a talk at 2pm on September 9 at Haslemere Hall.
