A CHILD actress from Haslemere has been featured in a new advert for Heinz Mayonnaise.
Lottie Cooper, aged 13, shot a TV commercial and poster campaign for the condiment giant, cast in the role of ‘Ali’, a student who creates sandwich masterpieces using the mayonnaise.
The TV shoot involved Lottie squirting mayonnaise onto a revolving plate that one of her on-screen friends held out.
Lottie said: “This took quite a few shots as I had to make sure I hit the plate and not any of the cast!
“I practised this move at home so I was ready for the shoot.”
Lottie also had a day of shooting stills for the poster campaign. For this, she had to ‘pretend chew’ as the sandwich she was holding was stuffed with tissues, pins and even superglued together.
The TV advert is currently airing across the summer, with the poster found in food magazines and billboards.
The Haslemere teenager – who is represented by MJ Management – is working hard towards becoming an actress, with previous credits including the role of Annie in production AnnieJR by the British Theatre Academy in Leatherhead, Surrey, and a role in an online video for UNICEF.
Her upcoming work also includes recording a voice over, as well as a self-tape piece for a supermarket.
She said her dream would be making it onto a period drama – but it doesn’t come without effort and determination .
Lottie said: “My ideal role would be as a young Queen Elizabeth.
“I’d love that – and the costumes would be awesome! However, getting professional roles is really difficult and you get a lot of no’s before you get a yes.
“You have to be incredibly determined and not give up.”
