LIPHOOK Village Surgery, part of the Swan Medical Group, has been awarded an ‘outstanding’ Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating following its latest inspection.

Inspectors who visited the surgery in The Square in March praised the group for its outstanding care and its place in the local community.

The report said the group was at the heart of primary care in the community, by supporting community services, including the local hospital, a local school and two psychiatric units as well as delivering a home-visiting service on behalf of other local practices.

The report also said the group’s motto of ‘caring for you by knowing you’ was embedded in care, reflected by staff and acknowledged by patients.

Dr Andrew Holden, senior partner at Swan Medical Group (pictured), said: “We’re delighted with the result and it’s great to see the changes we have implemented have been reflected in this rating.

“The rating reflects a lot of hard work by colleagues and also reflects the positive feedback from our patients.

“We will continue to work hard and make changes so we can continue to provide the best care for our patients and the local community.”

Since the group’s 2016 inspection, when it was rated ‘good,’ a strong quality improvement culture has been developed, focusing on innovation and continually seeking new ways to develop effective care pathways for patients, reflected consistently in positive patient outcome indicators.

The report also praised the strong access arrangements for patients, using a ‘Direct to Doctor’ system where patients were triaged on the day by their own GP and there was no wait for an appointment, that had consistent positive feedback from patients.
