A care home in Hindhead has won a national award for its “person-centred care” towards its residents who have dementia.
Langham Court, part of The Huntington and Langham Estate, won ‘Best Dementia Care Home’ at the 14th National Dementia Care Awards. The home follows the Butterfly approach for dementia care which focuses on creating a family atmosphere where staff and residents are free to be themselves.
Demonstrated by the recent ‘make a wish’ initiative where staff invited residents’ relatives to continue to make memories with their loved ones.
Managing director, Charlie Hoare, said: “Winning this award is testament to the love and dedication that goes into providing the best care for every person and family that comes to Langham Court. It takes an amazing team to create an award-winning care home, and we could not be more proud.”
The awards are run by a charitable community benefit society that publish the journal of dementia.
