Despite intense public interest in the toilet block on Lion Green, work is still ongoing.

The town council said that work to connect the electricity to the unit was scheduled to start last Wednesday, after which the energy supplier can install the electricity meter at the site.  

The council forecasts that by the end of the month the hard landscaping of the site should be complete. The council is pushing for a date for the final water connection by Thames Water to be done as soon as possible.
