Liphook's amateur dramatic company has won its very own happily ever after this summer.
The MAD Company’s 2022 pantomime, The Sleeping Beauty, was nominated in two categories - Best Pantomime for District 18 and Best Pantomime for the entire South East Region - at the NODA SE (National Operatic and Dramatic Association Southeast) annual awards.
The regional awards ceremony was held in Guildford on Sunday, June 11 - with the MAD Company cleaning house. With great pride, the pantomime received two awards, Winner of Pantomime Excellence for District 18 and Highly Commended runner-up for the Best Pantomime for the South East Region.
Claire and Peter Fewings, cast member and Chair, proudly received both awards on behalf of the company.
Vanessa K Breach, director of the company, commented: “These awards are a wonderful recognition for all the hard work that everyone involved puts into each production, our cast, crew, friends and helpers all provide a valuable input into the company to make it the success that it is.
"Our wonderful audiences who come along we thank you for your continued support year on year. We are a small company and to be recognised against a lot of larger companies regionally is a testament to everyone.
“We are already excited for our future show in 2024.”
The MAD Company will meet again early September to commence rehearsals for their next pantomime, Mother Goose, in 2024. New members are invited to join the company both on and off stage.
