Autumn has definitely arrived, with the subtle change in temperature and crisp crunch of leaves underfoot.

But while leaves are falling outside inside the Fernhurst Hub there is a riot of artistic colour and talent displayed across the walls, courtesy of the second edition of the annual 'Open Call Art Exhibition'.

This year, 70 pieces of artwork presented by 32 local artists were selected by Hub volunteer Sarah Brown, who is an artist herself.

The collection showcases a diverse range of mediums, including pressed flowers, hand-stitching, collage, and pastel work. Themes range from flora and fauna to abstract pieces, portraiture, and landscapes.

At the preview evening on September 26, artists and friends gathered to celebrate the event, including Olga Houghton, Chairperson of the Haslemere Arts Society. Lilia Warlow, an artist exhibiting for the second year, attended with her family and said:"It’s so exciting to have this opportunity for so many artists to be part of such an exhibition, and to see such a fantastic array of different work.”

The Hub has now gained a reputation as a platform for local artists to display their work, with five solo exhibitions in the last three years. This year's open call is a showcase of the extraordinary talent in the local area.

Running until November 27, all artwork is for sale, making it the perfect opportunity to view beautiful creations while enjoying coffee and cake at the Hub. Visitwww.fernhursthub.org.ukfor details on upcoming events.
