An important Old Master painting of the Madonna and child will go on sale at Parker Fine Art Auctions in Farnham this month, valued at between £20,000 and £30,000.

Believed to be the work of the Italian painter Palma Vecchio, who was painting alongside Titian in Venice in the late 15th and early 16th centuries, this work is believed to date from around 1514.

It will be available to view at Parker Fine Art Auctions in East Street, Farnham, from January 6 to 11 before the sale on Thursday, January 12.

Parker Fine Art Auctions was founded in 2020 by Buffy Parker and Henny Smith, both of whom have many years’ experience of fine art and auctions.

They hold monthly auctions of fine art and period frames at their saleroom in East Street, Farnham.

Sales are varied, offering everything from Old Masters to contemporary installations; paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, antique maps and frames.

Their vendor’s fee is £10 per lot, regardless of whether a painting sells for £200 or £2 million.
