BUSINESSES in Wey Hill clubbed together to ensure it was a sparkling occasion at Pets Worth by providing the bucks fizz and nibbles at the grand re-opening on Monday. Haslemere mayor Penny Bradley cut the ribbon and declared the shop open after the pet shop in Wey Hill was devastated by a fire caused by an electrical fault on January 6. Owner Ian Stanford had to struggle with insurance claims, complete rewiring, refurbishing, redecorating and restocking his shop before being able to open again. Craig McGowan, president of Haslemere Chamber of Trade, praised the support shown by all the traders in Wey Hill and said the chamber could always be relied on for help.
