Referendums on the Elstead & Weyburn and the Cranleigh neighbourhood plans have been suspended by the High Court just a week before polling day.
Waverley Borough Council confirmed it had called off the public votes on the two community-led planning blueprints “until further notice by order of the High Court”.
A council spokesperson confirmed a future hearing will confirm next steps for the referendum processes.
“This will be communicated in writing to residents within the relevant neighbourhood plan areas,” they added.
Waverley has not yet revealed the cause of the High Court order.
