Residents were shocked after a serious accident involving numerous cars unfolded on a main road in Elstead.
Police responded to calls of a multi-vehicle collision on Milford Road at around 7.30pm on the evening of Saturday, September 28.
A Surrey Police spokesperson said: “In total, five vehicles were involved. Four people received medical attention on scene, and one was taken to hospital for further treatment and later released.
“A 26-year-old man was arrested for dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit to drive through drugs. He has since been bailed under investigation.”
Surrey Fire and Rescue Service attended with two pumps on site and left at 10.12pm. An ambulance service was also in attendance.
The collision follows a survey launched by Elstead Parish Council asking locals to share their views on implementing 20-mph speed restrictions throughout the village. Milford Road was proposed as one of the roads that should adopt a lower speed limit.
