THE share of the council tax bill charged by Whitehill Town Council has been frozen for 2022-23.

The council agreed its budget and made a precept request – the amount it needs to raise from council tax payers – of £489,925 for the year at a full council meeting last Thursday. Band D residents will pay £98.42.

With Omicron fears in mind, the council asked the minimum of five councillors to attend the meeting at the Forest Community Centre, so council leader Cllr Andy Tree was joined by Catherine Clark, Katie Anscomb, James Fryer and Leeroy Scott.

Council tax revenue has increased by more than £5,000 this year thanks to new residents.

Cllr Tree said: “The greatest challenge at town council level is how to try to make positive differences for Whitehill & Bordon residents while not charging too much council tax to do it.”
