The owners of a scented candle business hope to light the flames of enthusiasm for Brightwells by raising £30,000 to set up a collective shop there.
Mum and daughter duo, Dorothie and Valerie Sadoh, have been running The House of Mahogany from market stalls across the region.
Now, they have revealed plans to set up a permanent shop, House of Mahogany & Friends, at Brightwells in Farnham.

The company has released a digital rendering of the proposed store, showcasing their brand name on Unit 9A, next to Brightwells Nails, which has yet to open despite being tipped to do so for several years.
The House of Mahogany offers a range of products, including soy wax candles, reed diffusers, room sprays, and other scented items.
It brands itself as a “luxury, eco-conscious, soy wax candle and home fragrance” company.
To help them achieve their permanent base, Dorothie and Valerie have launched a kick-starter campaign to raise £30,000 for the shop in Brightwells. But the new store is not the only thing the pair want to create as they want to “spearhead a movement” in Farnham by creating a space for more than 30 small local businesses to bring back to life to Brightwells.
Dorothie said: “This is a chance for all of us to be part of something special, a shop that tells stories, smells amazing, and gives small businesses the space they deserve.”
Valerie said: “We’ve seen how powerful community can be. Market and word have mouth have kept us going and now we want to give something back and we want to be the hub that does the same, bringing people together and supporting the incredible talent in and around Farnham.”
They are still finalising details with the owners of Brightwells but are hoping to have their shop open before the summer.
The Brightwells mixed-use development faced challenges even before its completion last year.
Although it currently houses a handful of businesses, including a Nando’s, pizzeria, gym, and a few others, the development remains largely vacant.
