HASLEMERE-based Swallow Trampoline Club made sure its fundraising for the BBC Sport Relief appeal went with a big bounce by mounting two fundraising sessions at The Edge leisure centre last week.
The sports focus now moves to the launch of a brand new initiative, Waverley Para Games, at Godalming's Charterhouse Club, next Thursday (April 3).
Local paralympian hand cyclist Rachel Morris, who won gold in Bejing in 2008 and bronze in London 2012, will open the inaugural event, which will also be attended by fellow paralympian Kylie Grimes.
The Waverley Para Games was the brainchild of local MP Jeremy Hunt following his involvement in the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics as former Secretary of State for Culture, Media, Sport and Olympics.
Nearly 100 school children from Surrey will be taking part in the opening event, delivered in partnership with Rodborough Technology College, Milford, which will include boccia, polybat, sitting volleyball, athletics and new age kurling.
