Three first-half goals gave Liss Athletic a 3-0 victory against Sway in their penultimate Hampshire Premier Football League Senior Division fixture at Newman Collard on Saturday.
Harry Stanbridge gave the Blues the perfect start with barely two minutes on the clock, poking home from close range, before Dan Clark's bullet header found the roof of the net from a corner midway through the half.
Elliot Harrison then capitalised on a defensive error to drill home a third – the league’s top scorer claiming his 32nd of the campaign.
Liss continued to threaten in the second half with Jack Butler's effort cleared off the line, while Theo Glazier's late mazy run ended with a shot wide, but the score remained 3-0.
With all their substitutes used following a spate of injuries to Seamus Evans, Johnny Kracmar and Harrison, Liss found themselves down to ten for the closing stages – and held out with nine after Adrian Ankers was sin-binned to take the gloss off the afternoon. Nevertheless, it was another valuable three points in the club’s quest for a top-four finish.

The reserves conclude their Hampshire Combination season with a home fixture against East Cowes Victoria on Saturday, May 18.
Liss Athletic’s under-14 Scorpions have sealed the North East Hampshire Youth League Division Four title with two games to spare.
Shaun Booty's side looked comfortable against a plucky Hart Youth Tigers side, racing into a 4-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes, with a fifth inside the first half effectively sealing the deal before the interval.
To their credit, Hart battled well in the second half with just the one further goal as it finished 6-0, with the final whistle sparking celebrations for the Blues at Newman Collard.
