A team of 38 Haslemere Border athletes took on the final race of this season’s Southern Cross Country League at Bourne Woods.
Jake Pillans-Payne led the men’s team home in 16th place, with Tom Owen, Alastair Rose and Steve Taylor completing the scoring places. Lawrie Baker, Tim Wishaw, Joe McCarthy-Holland, Stephen Sutton, Dudley Walker, Paul Fleming, Richie Robinson, Dave Bateman, Greg Reed, Hervey Breeze and Steve Pendegrass also finished.
Christina Archer led the ladies’ team home in ninth place, with Tania Corrigan, Philomel Bennett and Izzy Peters also securing points. Charlotte Finden, Rachel Selmes, Tess Evans, Laura Varnes, Rachel Sulley, Rita Smalley, Sam Walker, Tina Laing, Lorraine Herring, Ann Varnes, Sam Arlow, Karen Sinclair, Niamh O’Hagan, Rebecca Thomson, Annie Pritchard, Cheryl Stafford-Jones, Suzy O’Rourke, Emma Bowler and Emma Moore also finished.
The men’s team finished the season in eighth place, and the ladies sixth, securing a seventh-placed finish overall for the club.
Susie Adams finished the TEC Lulworth Cove Event in 6:50.50. Steve Taylor finished the Brighton half marathon in 1:53.54 and Sammy French finished in 2:04.15.
Jon Fairs finished the Wokingham half marathon in 1:17.03, followed by James Turner (1:18.26), Daniel Allaway (1:20.08), Tania Corrigan (1:36.20), Issy Peters (1:44.35) and Joe McCarthy-Holland (1:45.50).
Catriona Wiles finished the London Cancer Research 10km in 53.28, followed by Annalisa Alexander (1:04.33), Zachary Scanlon (1:10.01), Caroline Sandys-Lumsdaine (1:10.52), Nicola Scanlon (1:14.21), Paul Scanlon (1:14.25) and Emma Moore (1:31.09).
Rodger Morley finished the Forest Runner 10km in 39 minutes and Charlotte Finden finished in 52.24. Patrick Ferguson finished the Big Mud 16-miler in 3:03.05.
