LOCAL girls Kylie Grimes, Georgie Hermitage and Olivia Breen have all been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Para Athletics Championships in London next month.
Kylie (F51 club throw) is from Farnham, Georgie (T37 100m, 400m and 4x100m relay) is from Binsted and Olivia Breen (T38 long jump, 100m and 4x100m relay) is from Liphook.
Georgie Hermitage was one of the stars of the 2016 Rio Paralympics, winning gold medals in the T37 100m and 400m events and setting two new world records in the process. She also took a silver in the T35-38 4x100m relay final.
London 2012 bronze medallist Olivia Breen competed in her second Paralympics in Rio aged just 20. She finished an impressive seventh in the T38 100m final, followed by 12th in the T38 long jump.
Kylie Grimes competed in the F51 women’s club throw in Rio, finishing just outside the medal places in fourth place having represented GB at London 2012 in the wheelchair rugby.
Forty-nine athletes are in the GB squad for the World Championships in London (July 14-23).
