League leaders Farnham kept their Regional Two South Central promotion push on track with a convincing 34-13 win at home to Wimborne.
Wimborne won a couple of early penalties and went 3-0 up with less than a minute gone.
Eventually Farnham had some possession, and Jonny Vincent broke away and shrugged off several tackles before offloading to Oscar Henderson, who made further inroads before the ball was recycled out wide for Joe Wigmore to go over in the corner and put Farnham 5-3 up.
Farnham gathered the restart, exited well and caused confusion in the Wimborne backfield, eventually hacking the bobbling ball on into the visitors’ 22 and forcing an attacking scrum.
Wimborne’s defence repelled a number of attacks, but Farnham’s patience was rewarded after numerous phases with Vincent scoring their second try. Toby Salmon’s conversion made it 12-3.
Farnham then won a penalty and kicked to the corner. The catch and drive led to another try for Vincent to make it 17-3.
The second half kicked off with Wimborne looking to get back into the game.
The visitors won a couple of penalties and took three points to make it 17-6.
Farnham won a penalty which Salmon put deep in to touch to give the hosts an attacking lineout ten metres from the Wimborne try line.
The ball was recycled through a couple of big carries from Sam Voight and Harrison Horner, before Ben Stevens went past his man and fed Reece Stennett who secured the try bonus point.
Farnham’s fifth try arrived when they forced a knock on and Wigmore gathered to race away and provide Henderson with a walk in.
The hosts scored their sixth try when Stevens release Wigmore, who scored out wide. Salmon added the extras.
The visitors scored a converted try late on to make it 34-13.
