It may be early days but Alton Cons A are looking down on the rest of Division Two in the Farnham & District Billiards & Snooker League thanks to a blistering start to the season.
Momentum is clearly with the Division Three champions as they followed up their opening 3-1 win at Sovereign D with a crushing 4-0 whitewash over Bourne A.
Chris Schiel got the hosts off to a perfect start with a 65-6 victory over Andrew McMinn while wins by John Beagley, James McLeod and George Ratcliffe left the Altonians with the only 100 per cent record in the division.
There were also statement wins for Rowledge B and Passfield as the pair both won 4-0 against relegated pair Lindford B and Shottermill B while Liss RBL C have also made a good start, winning 3-1 at Bordon B.
Breaks have been sparse so far with only six 20-plus breaks made in the two divisions during the opening fortnight.
One of those was the 20 made by Charlie Standing for Frensham A in his side’s 3-1 defeat to Hindhead RBL A.
Bordon A and their C counterparts are first and second, respectively, following a 3-1 win at Traco C and 2-2 draw at home to Alton Cons F.
Rowledge C and Lindford D played out a draw in the other remaining game.
Top breaks: Richard Sanders (27), Dean Bicknell (24), Russell Wishart (24), Mike Hitchen (23), Andy Wells (22), Charlie Standing (20).
