Haslemere Museum's fireworks night went off with a bang last weekend, drawing more than 800 visitors.

The night kicked off with a performance by Haslemere Rock Choir, with a bonfire lit following the fireworks. The 1st Haslemere Scouts served burgers, while museum volunteers kept the crowd fuelled with popcorn, candyfloss, mulled wine, and hot chocolate.

Education Officer, Kay Topping, said: "The museum’s fireworks and bonfire night is a big event in the area which people look forward to every year. It's always great to see so many families enjoying themselves and we are fortunate to have plenty of outdoor space for the event. Thanks go to all our volunteers and helpers – and a big thank you to everyone who bought tickets and helped raise vital funds for Haslemere Museum."

As the museum’s flagship fundraiser, this event was vital for the museum’s charity status. So far, estimates show a whopping £3,500 has been raised, surpassing last year’s total by more than a grand.
