Camelsdale Primary kicked off 2025 with a Maths Week. Marking the school’s 120th anniversary, pupils tackled a 120-brick Lego challenge set by School Council Chair Henry. Fun maths-based tasks included finding the fattest Brussels sprout, heaviest potato, and longest carrot.
The week featured a visit from The Happy Puzzle Company, a Times Tables Challenge, and juniors designing puzzles for younger pupils. Children explored ratio, Fibonacci, and combined maths with art and science.
Organised by the school’s Mathematics Champion, Sarah Bull said: “We use mathematics all the time, and it is important to nurture a liking and confidence. Days like these help do just that.”
The school seeks volunteers and two new Governors – contact [email protected] or 01428 642177 to join the team!
