Bordon’s newly resurfaced pump track was at the centre of festivities last weekend.

Whitehill Town Council, in partnership with Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust, held the town’s first Trackfest at Jubilee Park on October 6.

The free event was supported by Camp Rubicon and the camp also organised sessions for scooters, BMX and skateboards, with attention given to young and novice riders. New tricks and skills were shown to more experienced riders.

Sian Manning from Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust said: “Participants of all ages and skill levels came together to shred their bikes, scooters and even a board on our newly constructed Pump Track.

“The energy was electric as riders challenged themselves to navigate the undulating terrain, mastering the art of pumping to gain momentum.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for riders to connect with the local community, share their passion for cycling and create lasting memories.  We cannot wait for next year’s event.”

Cllr Andy Tree, leader of Whitehill Town Council added: “I’m very pleased that the Town Council was able to successfully apply to East Hampshire District Council for S106 funding of £38,822 for the whole project, so we did not need to use Council Tax for the improvements including the new surface.

“The Trackfest event was enjoyed by many and we hope residents will continue to enjoy the Pump Track for years to come.”

The new track is one of a number of recent projects undertaken by the Town Council to support healthy living in Whitehill & Bordon.
