Thousands attended the Midhurst Town Cup to watch one of the most well-attended polo events in the world.

International polo players competed in two polo matches, The Jack Gannon Trophy and The Midhurst Town Cup, with the aim to bring polo to a wider audience in a family-friendly and welcoming environment.

To support Midhurst, entry to the Town Cup was free. Played on the first Sunday of the Gold Cup tournament, the Midhurst Town Cup has helped to form longstanding connections between the town and polo, with the event having been started by the business community in 1953.

Fun was had off the pitch as well, with food stalls, an inaugural produce competition, and the event’s first-ever produce and craft competition.

The Cowdray Gold Cup for the British Open Polo Championships is well underway, with the Semi-Finals taking place on Wednesday, July 17, and the Finals on Sunday, July 21.
