A suspected drug dealer has been arrested following a string of events on a Petersfield road which included a dog bite and a bomb scare.
Police were called to Stonechat Close around 11am this morning (Thursday, August 8) after a man in his 30s suffered minor injuries after being bitten by a dog.
Officers arrested a man from the Isle of Wight on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control.
The 24-year-old from Ventnor was also arrested with possession with intent to supply drugs after officers found several bags of suspected cocaine at the address.
But the drama didn’t finish there as police then called the Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team after discovering a suspected unexploded ordnance.
That turned out to be a fake grenade with residents being assured there was no risk throughout.
