Haslemere might have a giant rodent problem, but don’t call pest control! The giant hamster spotted roaming the streets is on an important mission – to help raise funds for the charity Prostate Cancer UK.
Tyre Pros, a charity partner of Prostate Cancer UK, brought their mascot, Tyre-rone, out of hibernation for a nationwide tour across all their centres this August.
The hamster and his team have been handing out hundreds of leaflets to educate men on prostate cancer risks and symptoms, while also collecting generous donations to fund vital research and support services for men and families affected by prostate cancer.
They have raised more than £8,000 on their journey and hope to surpass £10,000 by the end of the month.
A Tyre Pros spokesperson said: “The tour around the nation has been amazing so far. We’ve heard so many personal stories from men who are living with or have survived prostate cancer, while also putting a smile on people’s faces!”
